Another year, another round of the same lies and deflections from Rep. Paul Broun.
Last year, the Georgia Republican filed amendments to his FEC reports revealing he had lied about the true source of thousands of dollars in loans he made to his own campaign. Although he previously claimed he loaned his campaign the money, the amended reports show Rep. Broun had taken out a home equity loan.
Following a complaint filed by CREW, the FEC is investigating whether Rep. Broun broke campaign finance laws. After deceiving the FEC and his constituents for years, Rep. Broun still has not answered lingering questions about the funds, ensuring his place on CREW's list of the Most Corrupt Members of Congress for the second year running.
Unfortunately, Rep. Broun isn't alone. This year there are 16 others who have earned the dubious distinction of being named in our report.
