Drizzle doesn't keep crowds away from fall festival
The oconee county fall festival was well attended as usual even buy politicians running for congress and agriculture secretary and other offices. baloons t-shirts free samples were all over the place. One vendor who sold me a overpriced glass of lemonade and a Philly cheesesteak decided it was important to argue with me about what kind of cheese goes on a legitimate Philly cheesesteak and then denied me napkins along the way. We bought our usual assorted books and ancient fossils from the Karwoski family, who enjoyed an expanded line up of goods and stone carvings. Gail inscribed a copy of her book Seaman about the dog who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their journey. My son Lowell loved that book in third grade and demanded another copy. He also bought a bear tooth from the Urals that he promptly left in Phillips Hall which I always thought was Rocket Hall of the ladies from the Oconee County Historical Society clued me in. I strongly recommended that he at least go back and look for before the Fall Festival shut down. We saw Brian Brodrick and his son taking batting practice, Jonathan McGinty working a booth, Crystal Henschel, Kellen and her husband and a whole lot of other people crammed on the infield and outfield of Rocket Field.
