If my Georgia Entrepreneurship Tour last week has proven one thing for sure, it's that Georgians have creativity in spades.
Michelle Nunn for Georgia

Last week, I kicked off my Georgia Entrepreneurship Tour and traveled across the state talking with entrepreneurs, business owners, and educators who are helping to train our workforce -- folks who are at the center of job creation and economic growth in our state.
I know if we create the conditions for them to expand their investments and grow their efforts, they'll put their creativity to use and create jobs, solve problems, and build our state's 21st century economy.
On the tour, I met Lucas Shaffer -- a young entrepreneur who is building his online design firm and helping expand the efforts of local businesses in the process. He has big ideas and big ambition for carrying his firm forward and has already seen terrific growth.
In Albany, I met Dr. Anthony Parker who has grown Albany Technical College into a premier provider of technical education. The school partners with local businesses and the Marine Corps Logistics Base to train the workforce of tomorrow. One student I met -- Aamir -- spent two decades serving our country in the military and is now training to become an engineer.
I met Debra and Valeria -- sisters and owners of Taylor Mack Cupcakes in Columbus. They told me they named their shop after their two grandmothers who taught them how to bake and about being community leaders. Seven years later, their business is still going strong.
Watch our tour wrap-up video and learn more about the work of Georgia's entrepreneurs all across the state.

Creative entrepreneurs like the ones I met last week aren't waiting for somebody else to tackle the big challenges -- they're putting in the time and hard work to do it and moving Georgia forward in the process.
Politicians in Washington should be just as focused on innovation as these entrepreneurs. They need to come together to create certainty for entrepreneurs and advance policy that will help businesses create jobs -- things like increasing access to capital for small businesses, extending the Research & Development tax credit, and starting to pass budgets again.
Watch our wrap-up video to learn more about the innovative work our Georgia businesses are doing -- and how I'll work to empower more of them as Georgia's next U.S. Senator.
Sincerely,
Michelle
