Advisory: boil water advisory lifted
Hi Dan Matthews,
Passing this along:

The Oconee County Utility Department is lifting the Boil Water Advisory that was issued Friday February the 7, 2014 for any customers North of Friendship Circle along Hwy 441 including White Oak Subdivision and the Rockinwood Drive area. The advisory was initiated as a precautionary measure due to a severe water main break. Sampling conducted in and around the affected area verified that there was no microbiological contamination present. Many customers may notice discoloration or air bubbles in the water for a short period of time. The discoloration is a result of iron and manganese deposits that naturally occur on the interior of water pipes which may have been dislodged by our flushing activities. Water department personnel will continue flushing and monitoring operations until those issues are resolved. We appreciate your patients and cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions please call 706-769-3960 or check the county website at www.oconeecounty.com for further updates. For full details, view this message on the web.
