Sign this petition to stop Georgia discrimination bills

Tell Governor Deal and the Georgia legislature: Reject HB 1023 and SB 377. Dear Daniel, Two bills currently being considered by the Georgia legislature -- HB 1023 and SB 377 -- would allow any business to refuse services and goods based on religious convictions. If signed into law they would open a Pandora's box of discrimination targeting gays and lesbians, women, racial minorities and certain religious groups. The bills are moving through the Georgia legislature quickly, so we need to act fast to stop this pro-discrimination policy from becoming Georgia law. That's why I started my own campaign on CREDOMobilize.com, which allows activists to start their own petitions. My petition, which is to Governor Deal and the Georgia legislature, says the following: HB 1023 / SB 377 would lead to discrimination against women, gays and lesbians, religious groups and racial minorities. Do not allow this discriminatory legislation to become law in Georgia. Sign the petition: Tell Governor Deal and the Georgia legislature to reject pro-discrimination HB 1023 and SB 377. Although disguised behind the mask of First Amendment rights, these bills are nothing but an affirmation of anyone's right to discriminate for virtually any reason. Similar legislation has stalled or been defeated recently in Arizona, Tennessee, South Dakota and Kansas. Georgia legislators should reject this discriminatory law, but that won’t happen unless we can build massive grassroots pressure in opposition to HB 1023 and SB 377. These bills would do nothing more than create a society in which personal opinions take prevalence over basic civic behavior. We should not allow them to become Georgia law.
