Atkins wins top prize in national writing contest

Ellie Atkins, a fourth-grade student at Oconee County Elementary, recently was awarded the top prize in a national writing contest sponsored by the Scholastic Book Clubs.
The competition, centered on a “Harry Potter” theme, required students to write an essay answering the question “If you took a sip of Polyjuice Potion and became another person for a few hours, who would you be and why?”
Atkins won an all-expense paid trip for two to New York City to visit Scholastic headquarters, lunch with members of the Harry Potter editorial team, and a $300 shopping spree in The Scholastic Store.
