Relate And Create

Workshops for teens to explore their artistic creativity

Relate and Create is designed to offer teens, who want to extend their art education beyond the classroom, the opportunity to explore a variety of media while studying under accomplished artists. Each of the one-week sessions will focus on a different aspect of the visual arts - drawing, sculpture, and painting.
 Week One
Introduction  to Drawing
Students will learn different drawing techniques using an array of materials both traditional such as charcoal, graphite, pastel and ink to non-traditional materials such as Georgia red clay. Also covered will be the many papers and other surfaces that can be used as drawing surfaces. Genre will include still life, figurative, portrait and more modern styles such as abstract and graphic novel illustration.
Basics will include light, design/composition, which surfaces and materials will render the subject matter the most convincing, tone, textures, blending, stippling and cross hatching.
