Market News

In order to finish up some projects before the cold weather sets in, we will no longer be at the Saturday Watkinsville Market this season. You can still find us at the Saturday Athens Farmer's Market from 8am to 12pm at Bishop Park, through Athens Locally Grown, and our Sunday Farm Stand here at the farm every Sunday from 2pm -4pm.

Farm News

Farm Packs are back this week! For those of you who would like to save by buying in bulk but don't have quite enough freezer space for a quarter cow; we are offering a pre-selected grouping of our favorite cuts priced to save you a $1 per pound. All packs are available in limited number on a first-come, first-served basis. No substitutions please.

The $130 Family Pack - 1 Large Chuck Roast, 1 Large Sirloin, 4 Medium NY Strips, 4 lbs ground beef, 1lb package of cube steak OR 1 lb ground beef.

Please send us an email if you would like to reserve a farm pack. Farm Packs are available for pickup at our Sunday Farm Stand or at the Saturday Athens Farmers Market.


  

Where to find us...

  • Athens Farmer's Market - Come see us at Bishop Park Saturday 8am to 12pm. We will have our wonderful Piedmontese grass-fed beef fresh, free-range eggs, and dog treats for sale!  
  • Sunday Farm Stand - Come visit us here at the farm between 2pm and 4pm! We will have Piedmontese beef, pastured eggs, and unpasteurized pet milk for sale. This week the farm stand has pomegranates for sale from our very own pomegranate tree!

Jeff Dantzler's arrests may be the best thing that ever happened to him

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. Any one who has listened to 960 the Ref AM sports talk radio or heard the UGA Lady Dawgs or men's baseball team has surely heard the encyclopedic knowledge of one Jeff Dantzler. Jeff and I are pretty much diametrically opposed poltically, but today he was arrested on four counts including DUI. I hope he gets the help he needs following his incarceration. I work for a lawyer who could help him out if he does not having someone already representing him. This man is a great broadcaster and I hope this arrest serves as a wake-up call for him and his rock and roll lifestyle. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

The booking photo is not to be placed on any web page that charges a fee for booking photo removal. Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
