Watkinsville woman to host signing of new novel at Arnoldsville plantation house

Watkinsville author Denise Weimer will host a book signing for the
release of her latest novel “White,” which is the first book of The
Restoration Trilogy, from 2-4 p.m. March 12 at Fair Havens Plantation at
75 Old Edwards Road, Arnoldsville.


Weimer will conduct a reading at 3 p.m. and answer questions about
her work. Also a drawing for a free novel will be held at 4 p.m. and
anyone 13 and over can enter. Anyone who purchases a novel at the event
will have their money refunded if their name is drawn.

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
