No injuries reported in Oconee County school bus wreck

No serious injuries were reported in connection with a Thursday
morning accident involving an Oconee County school bus, according to
Oconee County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Lee Weems.


The accident occurred at the intersection of Malcom Bridge and Rocky
Branch roads, Weems said. No one was transported from the scene for
medical treatment, the chief deputy said. No additional details on the
wreck were immediately available.

James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
