Some Burr Harris and Bradham Drive water cut off for 4 hours Wednesday with a day of boiling water advisory

On Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. water service at the addresses indicated below will be interrupted for approximately 4 hours due to the Mars Hill Road widening Project. As a precautionary measure, a boil water advisory will be in effect for approximately 24 hours or until it is rescinded by the Environmental Protection Division of EPD. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute and let cool prior to ingestion. Notification of the boil water advisory being lifted will be published on the Oconee County Website, www.oconeecounty.com

THis has next to nothing to do with Oconee County with the possible exception of the location of his former office, but a former colleague of mine on the radio got popped today for four counts. James Whipple of Bogart bonded out on child porn, pot, and possession of a firearm during commission of crime charges

Sheriff Scott Berry announces the arrest of Ian James Whipple (23) of Jefferson Avenue in Bogart on one count of Computer Pornography (child pornography), one count of Violation of Georgia Controlled Substances Act, and one count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime. Bond was set by the court at $50,000. Whipple has bonded out of jail. The arrest st ems from an investigation that began when the OCSO received information from the Athens Clarke County Police leading to the obtaining of a search warrant for Whipple's residence and computers. That warrant was executed on July 1st. Upon entering the residence, it was discovered that Whipple also was cultivating marijuana plants. Whipple was not at the residence at the time the warrant was executed. He was arrested on July 3rd when he was located by OCSO deputies.
